How To Add Muscle Mass
Add 10 Pounds of Muscle
Easier Than You’d Think
By Senior Editor Kisha Sippy
Adding 10 pounds of muscle or converting 10 pounds of fat to 10 pounds of muscle is a goal that has crossed most people’s minds. …Maybe also a goal that has not been accomplished yet. Adding 10 pounds of muscle really isn’t that hard. All you need is a plan and the self-discipline to execute the plan.
Here’s the easy part: Pick a fitness regime.
You could go with free weights, sports, get a gym membership, take magic pills (scary) etc. You have a lot of choices.
The key to success here is understanding your obstacles and strategically picking a plan that works for you! Lifeline has been working on isolating and attacking these obstacles for the past 33 years. While each person has unique challenges, maybe some of these will strike a chord with you:
1) “Not enough time in my average day.”
2) “Not enough energy to get the ‘must do’s done’ and work out as well.”
3) “Not in one place long enough to settle into a routine.”
4) “Procrastination is my game and I’ll definitely start tomorrow…NIGHT!”
5) “Eat out often and generally am not too proud of my diet.”
6) “My weight doesn’t change no matter what I do?!”
The key to defeating these obstacles is having a portable (fits in your pocket) fitness product that allows you to get results wherever you are. By results we mean your time isn’t being wasted. You could curl a #2 pencil 6,000 times a day and get ‘results’ – and some regimes behave more or less like this.
Lifeline’s products revolve around the concept that the results we’re talking about come from engaging your entire body when you work out or “functional fitness”. Lifeline has a ton of portable, functional fitness products…well, actually it wouldn’t weigh near that much – unless you include our kettlebells. (Kettlebells are not portable fitness solutions – however they are EXCELLENT home / gym products.)
We mentioned diet as something we consider an obstacle, but diet is really an individual choice. We can, however, tell you with certainty that if you burn 3X as many calories as you are now by doing short, spur of the moment exercises frequently – you will convert fat into muscle. Make sure you’re eating enough and consult a nutritionist if you’re worried about your diet. Speaking with your doctor before starting a new exercise regime is also a wise choice!
