Frequently Asked Questions
All of our Cables are color-coded, with each color representing a different amount of resistance. As a rule, when the Cable is stretched to twice its normal length, the following list applies:
- R1 Teal - 10 lbs
- R2 Purple - 20 lbs
- R3 Pink - 30 lbs
- R4 Magenta - 40 lbs
- R5 Orange - 50 lbs
- R6 Red - 60 lbs
- R7 Yellow - 70 lbs
- R8 Green - 80 lbs
- R9 Blue - 90 lbs
- R10 Black - 100 lbs
Please remember that resistances in the same color may vary slightly, due to natural variations in latex rubber. If you use the same Cables for every workout, you will be the best judge of your progress.
Occasionally, we hear from customers who have had the same Cables for 10 years or more, but, if you use the Cables regularly, we recommend that you replace them at least once a year. You can extend the life of your Cables by keeping them in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight or other heat, and wiping them down regularly. We know many customers who regularly wipe their Cables with Armor-All.
There are several advantages. First of all, almost all of our products are portable, and most weigh less than 2 lbs. From a functional standpoint, the biggest difference is that our Cables provide variable resistance. For example, if you are doing a bicep curl with a 50 lb. dumbbell, the exercise actually gets EASIER as your forearm and the dumbbell get further above a parallel line to the floor. This is due to the leverage of your elbow assisting in the exercise. With our Cables, the resistance increases as the Cable is stretched, offsetting the leverage of your elbow. Finally, Cables provide a much smoother exercise through the entire range of motion. How many times have you been in a gym and seen someone "throw" the weight up and "catch" it on the way down. This is not the way to exercise!
Lifeline uses only dipped rubber tubing, while many of our competitors use extruded rubber. The difference? Extruded rubber tubing is much cheaper, and is made by forcing rubber through a die, resulting in one thick layer of rubber, similar to how a rubber band is made. If there are any defects in this layer, the Cable will fail prematurely. Dipped rubber is made similar to how a candle is made, where the tubing is dipped several times in liquid rubber, resulting in several layers. In fact, if you look at the end of our Cables under magnification, you will see rings similar to the trunk of a tree. With dipped rubber, if one layer is weak, the other layers will compensate for it and the Cable will not fail. We know of several customers who have had their Cables for 15 to 20 years, and some of the layers of the Cable are shredded, but they continue to use the Cable, and it does not break! We must caution you, however, that some Cable distributors will tell you that their Cables are dipped, and they are not! Armed with the knowledge that you now have, you can look at a cross section of Cable and be able to tell the difference.
We have phased out the Classic Deluxe Gym and the closed stirrup Fitness Cables that snap into the White Lifting Bar. In its place, we are introducing the new Portable Gym, which features our new Lifting Bar and Triple Grip Handle Fitness Cables. Our new Triple Grip Fitness Cables that are offered on our web site will fit into the new lifting bar, but will NOT fit into the old white lifting bar.
I am very happy with the quality. The bells went though strict quality control measures and passed with flying colors. I could put my reputation behind any bell on the market and chose to do so with the LL bells. I have been training with them for a month and love them. I know you will as well.
You will love the prices on these bells.
Yes, it should not be a problem at all. While the Lifeline bells have slightly thicker handles, the bell is pretty much the same size and will not be an issue.
While the smaller bells look like real kettlebells (no plastic thin handles) I do not recommend anything below 35lbs for Renegade Row. It becomes too much of a stability issue with very light bells.
Nope, I made a point of having Lifeline USA avoid the slick handles. They are smooth enough that they will not tear up your hands and rough enough that they will not fly out of your hands on high repetition work.
Around the same size as DD's 88lb bell. I love the 97s for double work!
Kettlebells are made of 100% cast iron.
Our first batch of kettlebells were made in China, however we are currently seeking a high quality kettlebell manufacturer within the United States.
The $9.95 shipping fee is automatically built into our shopping cart. We took this into consideration and subtracted $9.95 from the listed freight cost.

Hey, did you ever see those bodybuilding gorillas at the gym or on those workout shows on television? They are all about isolating a muscle to increase its size. They even tell the viewer to "put your mind in the muscle." This kind of bodybuilding will build individual muscles and is great for posing, but did you ever see one of these guys try to scratch his back, swing a baseball bat, play basketball or even throw a football? The reason that these things all look funny is because the human body does not work functionally as isolated muscles! The human body is a chain, with all of the links working together to perform everyday tasks, as well as athletic functions. Lifeline's products promote "closed chain" exercises, where muscles are not isolated, but perform together. For example, we do not condone bench presses done while lying on a bench. These do absolutely nothing for your back, because your back is being supported by the bench. Our products provide the ability to do standing bench presses, where the back, legs and core are all involved in the exercise, along with the chest and shoulders.
We download orders from our web site every weekday morning at 9:00 Central time. Normally, we will ship within 2-3 days after we receive the order, but there are certain times of the year, such as the Christmas season, when it may take 4 days or longer to ship. Then it will take another 5-7 business days for shipping, continental US only. Please remember that, if you ask for overnight or 2-day delivery, that does not include Saturdays or Sundays. Also, special delivery is from the day we ship, NOT from the day you order. Please also note we normally ship via UPS, but if we need to ship to a post office box, we only ship on Fridays.
